1. Our commitment

An’du is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain. We do not tolerate forced labour, bonded labour, involuntary prison labour, or human trafficking.

2. Our business and supply chain

An’du is a small UK-only business led by two co-founders and uses third-party manufacturers and suppliers to support production and operations. We recognise that supply chains can carry risks and we take a proportionate, risk-based approach to managing them.

3. What we expect from manufacturers and suppliers

We expect our manufacturers and suppliers to:

  • prohibit forced, bonded, or trafficked labour
  • ensure workers are free to leave employment with reasonable notice
  • not withhold identity documents or charge unlawful recruitment fees
  • comply with applicable wage, hour, and employment laws
  • provide safe and hygienic working conditions
  • allow workers to raise concerns without retaliation

4. Due diligence and risk-based checks

In a manner proportionate to our size and risk profile, An’du may:

  • conduct basic supplier onboarding checks (e.g., business identity, trading presence, and relevant certifications where applicable)
  • request confirmation of labour standards and workplace policies where appropriate
  • prioritise additional scrutiny for higher-risk suppliers, countries, or categories (if applicable in future)
  • keep a record of material concerns and actions taken

5. Identifying red flags

We treat the following as potential indicators requiring escalation:

  • reports of withheld wages, identity documents, or coercion
  • unusual labour arrangements (e.g., excessive recruitment fees, restrictions on movement)
  • lack of transparency about workforce conditions
  • repeated non-compliance or refusal to cooperate with reasonable requests

6. Reporting concerns

Anyone can report suspected modern slavery linked to An’du or our supply chain by emailing lizzy@an-du.co.uk. Reports will be handled sensitively and, as far as reasonably possible, confidentially.

7. Investigation and remediation

Where concerns are identified, An’du will assess the issue and take proportionate action, which may include:

  • requesting corrective action plans from the relevant supplier/manufacturer
  • pausing or ending the relationship where risks cannot be adequately addressed
  • reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate

8. Training and awareness

Given An’du’s size, formal training may be light-touch, but we commit to maintaining awareness of modern slavery risks and integrating checks into supplier onboarding and review where appropriate.

9. Review

This policy is reviewed annually (or sooner if our business model or supply chain changes materially).

If you want, I can also format these into a one-page “Policy Pack” layout (header, version number, signature lines for Lizzy/Tina) so they look extra polished for the H&B portal.
