What people really want this Christmas
Christmas is a time for gifting, but more than ever people are looking to gift with a purpose, with 4 out of 10 adults regifting, selling, returning or donating their presents [i] it’s worth being mindful with what you give. Personal finances compounded with environmental concerns are helping focus everyone’s minds. Some elect not to gift, but for those who wish to – they want their gifting to be a success.
Giving a present isn’t meant to be the same as supplying, it’s about thinking who you are giving to – their personality, likes and dislikes. Knowing if they would like a piece of luxury or a more functional present.
A survey by Yell has revealed that 68% of Brits would prefer to receive a useful or functional gift rather than a traditional gift this Christmas [ii] while a Google search revealed an 82% increase in ‘useful gifts for adults’. Some of these gifts are expensive – driving lessons, holidays etc and some less so, but the message is clear
‘I would like the recipient to be able to use my gift not regift it or put it in the drawer and forget about it.’ Gone are the days of splashing the cash and hoping.
Admittedly if you were expecting a holiday or driving lessons, then a shampoo bar just might not wash (pun intended). But with 48% of people cutting their spending on their presents’ budget due to the cost-of-living crisis [iii] and as much as 114,000 tonnes – equivalent to 650,000 reindeer – of plastic packaging going into landfill [iv] then it’s time we need to rethink our gifting.
So how can you combine both luxury and function while not be one of the 4 in 10 gifts that get moved on? Well, if the above forementioned holiday or driving lessons are a bit out of your budget, then shampoo might just fit the bill.
Shampoo is one of the most important personal care items that you can gift. It is a necessity for both men and women and is an excellent gift idea. A good shampoo will clean the scalp and hair, leaving it soft, glowing and healthy. Shampoos come in all forms and cost points and in giving a high end shampoo that will leave your hair shiny, soft and smelling gorgeous, we feel that you will be satisfied with your gifting.
We don't often blow our own trumpet, but we feel now might be the time to do so.
We are 100% plastic free – both in the bar and the wrapping. Indeed, our packaging is made of 100% vegetable dyes, compostable, carbon neutral and with each purchase a contribution is made to the World Land Trust who use this to purchase endangered rain forest. We are the only bar to contain post-biotics – known to help the scalp microbiome. We are pH balanced and vegan. We are free from sulphates, silicone, and petrochemicals and phthalates. We are vegan and cruelty free.
And, to please those 68% of Brits we are also the most functional you can get, this gift is going to be used – not put in the top drawer (although if it does get stored there for a bit while the old shampoo is being used up first, it makes your socks smell incredible). Our bars are also double award winning! [v]
Our different bars have different functions.
- Beard Botanics, our male hair care range is not just for those with beards; containing oats to sooth both itchy beards and scalps, it is an all-round, award winning, shampoo smelling of bergamot and black pepper.
